Executive Director Wipe Uganda Wants government to avail financial support to CSOs!

Owek. Mutesi Deborah Christine Magezi made the appeal this evening at a colourful function organised by Women Initiative in Poverty Eradication ( Wipe Uganda) an organisation on women’s rights and poverty eradication, at Budondo Sub County headquarters in Jinja City.

“Wipe uganda we’re currently limited in one region (Busoga), and district ( Jinja) mainly because of the insufficiency of funding”, Said Mrs Magezi. She however laud government and president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for creating a favorable environment that has led to formation of various Civil Society Organisations.

“I would like to thank the president for allowing up to operate freely without interruptions” -Mrs Deborah Magezi retaliates.

The celebrations marked the 6th years anniversary of the NGO &was also part of commemoration of the 16 days of activism against gender based violence awareness.

The occasion was graced by the 3rd Deputy prime minister of Uganda Rt.Hon. Hajat Rukia Isanga Nakadama, Deputy Resident District Commissioner Ngora Mr. Lukooki John Magezi, cultural, religious &political leaders, Uganda police and among other stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the Ngora Deputy Resident Commissioner Mr. Lukooki John Magezi who represented the RDCs in Jinja City/District rallied the gathering on the fight against poverty. He attributes the day to day increasing gender based violence incidences to financial inability to satisfy human needs.
